Christ in Me International was recently questioned by Carte Blanche (DSTV Channel 101) because we were accused by individuals of breaking up families and marriages.
We would like to address this matter by starting off with a few narratives:
Once upon a time, there was a happily married agnostic couple. One day, they sat and watched a religious program about Jesus Christ, which stated that if you believe in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross, you would also become a Son of GOD. One person believed this and became a devoted believer, the other person stayed an agnostic. Due to their different views, they divorced.
Who was responsible for the divorce?
a) Was it the person who became a believer, because (s)he believed and subsequently changed?
b) Was it the person who did not change, because (s)he would not believe in what Jesus Christ did for him or her?
c) Was it the Christian Organisation that produced the program?
d) Was it GOD, because HE sent HIS firstborn Son to the cross so that many may pass over into the promise of Sonship?
Once upon a time, there was a family. They were devoted Muslim believers. One day, a family member read an article about Jesus Christ, which stated that if you believe in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross, you would also become a Son of GOD. The family member believed this and become a Christian, but due to fundamental differences in belief, this person ultimately lost contact with his family.
Who was responsible for the breakup of the family?
a) Was it the Christian family member, because he chose to leave the Muslim faith?
b) Was it the Family, because they chose to stay true to their faith?
c) Was it the Christian Organisation that wrote the article?
d) Was it the Christian publishing house responsible for the magazine?
e) Was it GOD because HE sent HIS firstborn Son to the cross so that many may pass over into the promise of Sonship?
Once upon a time, there was a Christian based group of friends. This group attended Sunday church on a regular basis but spent no other meaningful time at church or with things pertaining to GOD. Weekends would be spent socialising. One couple felt an urgency to pursue the Kingdom of GOD much more fervently because they had an unconsummated desire to lay down their lives for GOD. They joined a new Church where they met like-minded people. Because of this, they ultimately lost contact with their original group of friends.
Who was responsible for the breakup of the group of friends?
a) Was it the couple who wanted to pursue GOD more fervently?
b) Was it the friends who did not want to pursue GOD more fervently?
c) Was it the new Organisation that cultivated this fervent pursuit for GOD?
d) Was it the new friends who replaced the old friends?
e) Was it GOD because HE stirred the desire inside them to pursue HIM?
Once upon a time, a family joined an Organisation that taught a new doctrine. After some time, some family members chose to leave the Organisation and some family members chose to stay at the Organisation. This created tension between the family members and ultimately separated the family.
Who was responsible for the breakup of the family?
a) Was it the family members who chose the new organisation?
b) Was it the family members who chose to move back to their previous organisation?
c) Was it the Organisation that taught the new doctrine?
d) Was it GOD with HIS progressive message that brought division?
From the four narratives, the answer is simple. It is GOD’s word that brings separation! Jesus Christ was very clear about this. Does GOD want to separate people? NO! Jesus Christ paid dearly to reconcile the world with GOD. Why do people then want to blame the church preaching the word of GOD? Is it because not all people want to be reconciled with GOD and HIS Ways on earth? Christ in Me International preaches a word of reconciliation. GOD reconciled the world to HIMSELF through Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:18 (NKJV)
Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
Let’s look at the narratives from GOD’s perspective:
(9) In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. (10) Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Please apply Heaven to the above narratives. How would these narratives play out in Heaven? Would every person praise the LORD and sit at HIS feet all day long?
If you could choose not to work (as we are most probably not going to work in Heaven) would you want to sit at HIS feet all day long, as in Heaven?
At Christ in Me International we live to reflect Heaven. That is our hearts’ desire, and most assuredly it is GOD’s desire too. We align our hearts with GOD’s heart. We absolutely love it. Unfortunately, life demands our time as well, but as time allows it and where we can spare it we choose to sit at GOD’s feet. There we enjoy fellowship with GOD and each other.
We do not follow western religious culture. We do not follow the “balanced” lifestyle where people go to church on a Sunday, but also pursue their own dreams and desires. We follow the Heavenly lifestyle. For us, GOD and HIS dream is our beginning and our end. We cannot pursue our own dreams in Heaven, so why would we waste time doing so on earth?
This is how we live and move at Christ in Me International. If you want this, if you have a burning desire to reflect heaven on earth, please join us.
If you see it differently, you are welcome to do so. But, your anger is misplaced if you call us destructive or accuse us of breaking up families and marriages because your loved ones would rather spend their time on earth reflecting heaven, alongside people with the same passion and desire.
Christ in Me International is not for everybody, unless everybody has a burning desire to reflect heaven?
